Book Review: The Lords of Salem-Rob Zombie

Today I am reviewing the movie tie in novelization of Rob Zombie's movie The Lords of Salem. Now I read this before watching the movie so I wouldn't have the whole the movie didn't have this part in let down or any of the letdown that most of the time comes from movie adaptations of books.

Now I love movie tie-in novels because they more often then not go into more detail about what is happening than a movie can and since they are more likely than not based on an early draft of the movie script it offers a what if about what was left out.

That being said, let's get into the review:

The plot basically revolves a recovering drug addict radio DJ named Heidi who comes across a demo from a mysterious band named The Lords, of course, this story taking place in the home of the infamous Salem witch trials, there is more then meets the eye to the Lords music and all sorts of strange stuff starts to happen not only to Heidi but certain members of the female population of Salem.

My thoughts: The beginning set during the time period of the witch trials sets up the rest of the story very nicely and while the book does take a while after that to pick up steam again after Heidi received the demo, it picks up nicely with only a few spots where it feels as if it is dragging. I really dug the end of the story and would be interested in a sequel to the story to find out what happens next.

Final Rating: Overall, I give this book 3.75 out of 5 stars and recommend you to check it out if you have seen the movie and what more detail of what happens or if you want to see the movie but want to read the book before you do. Also if you are a horror fan this comes recommended.

And with that I am out of here...

Until next time faithful readers:

Be Cool
Be Kind
Be Spiffy
And remember Never be afraid to call out stupid people
